Avon / Otakaro Mother Of All Cleanups
On Saturday May 7 there will be The Mother Of All Cleanups of the Avon / Otakaro river.
Starting at Barbadoes St and extending to Bridge St.
Many community groups have “adopted” parts of the river for their cleanup.
Travis Wetland Trust has joined with AvON to clean up the Kate Sheppard area.
Time: 12.30 till 2 pm.
We encourage participants to bring their own gloves and rakes and/or pitch forks – however we will arrange to have some supplies of these on the day. Participants need to bring robust footwear eg boots or gumboots – jandals are not acceptable.
We will be meeting at the Matariki Gardens; Chimera Crescent at 12.30 see map
There will be a free BBQ and debrief session. This will be held at 3pm at Kerrs Reach Rowing Clubs – all participants are invited.
